CWP is yet again proud to support one of the UK's leading celebrations of diversity and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community.
Taking place on Saturday 17th August, CWP services including Talking Therapies and Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CAMHS) will be in attendance at this year’s Chester Pride event.
The festival is set to welcome tens of thousands of people to Chester. Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) will be joining dozens of exhibitors offering information, guidance, and advice as well as taking part in the celebratory parade.
Suzanne Edwards, CWP Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Operations, said: “Chester Pride is a fantastic opportunity for us all to come together, stand with, and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. As Board Champion for LGBTQ+, Pride means much more than an annual event to us. It is a commitment to all our colleagues, patients and the wider community to create a culture where they can thrive, grow, and feel they belong.”
Members of CWP’s staff network ‘The Rainbow Tree’ were pleased to join a recent sponsorship event, which featured performances from The Proud Mary’s, Chester’s LGBTQ+ Choir.
Philip Makin, CWP Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Co-ordinator, who is a member of the choir, said: “Supporting Chester Pride is one of many ways we celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the year, but we recognise that things can be tough if you don’t feel supported, accepted, and embraced as your authentic self. CWP welcomes every opportunity to raise awareness and make things better for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their family and friends.”
