94 wellbeing ambassadors from nine schools came together in Wirral to celebrate their work and achievements in promoting emotional health and wellbeing in their schools. The project is a co-produced support programme for primary age children and has now been running for three years, with 12 schools now signed up and more joining in the new academic year.
Our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is a schools-based service, designed to meet the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings.
As part of their whole school approach to mental health, our Mental Health Support Team schools have identified wellbeing ambassadors who promote and champion positive health and wellbeing within their school community. The wellbeing ambassadors aim to make their schools a friendly and supportive space that creates a sense of wellbeing and belonging.
For Children's Mental Health Week 2024, we asked the wellbeing ambassadors within Manor Primary School and Grove Street Primary School in Birkenhead what ideas they have had around improving wellbeing within their school, and how these ideas and have been listened to and actioned.
