Tim Welch Blog - AMM, welcoming a new chair and getting my COVID booster

17 November 2021

It was our Annual Members Meeting (AMM) on 11th November and this year was again held virtually due to covid restrictions. Whilst it was a pity not to see colleagues and members of the public face to face, it was a wonderful reminder of all the fantastic work that CWP has undertaken across the last 18 months and to celebrate the many achievements we have delivered. This is all down to the fantastic contribution of all of our staff across the Trust and I’d like to thank them all again for being amazing and for everything they do.

The Trust’s achievements have again been recognised by NHS England by being classified as a segment 1 Trust (where segment 1 is the highest possible achievement) and one of a limited number of Trust’s to achieve this status across the North West.

This AMM was also Mike Maier’s last as our Chair and there was a fab montage reminding us of the many areas he has supported in his tenure and the valuable contribution that he has made. On behalf of the Trust, thank you Mike and from a personal perspective thank you for all your support, from when you were my Audit Committee Chair when I first came to CWP through to my current role.

As we marked the end of one chapter we also announced the appointment of our new Chair, Isla Wilson, who will start with CWP in the new year. Isla brings a wealth of experience and is currently the Vice Chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System. I look forward to working with her and continuing to support CWP help the population we care for be the best it can be.

I also recently received both my Covid booster and Flu jabs at the Churton vaccination centre. I found the whole process very professional, from the easy to use online booking system, through to the post jabs sit down, drink and biscuits. Well done to the whole team involved. As someone who didn’t feel great after my first Covid jab, I didn’t have any problems this time and didn’t have any concerns going out for my usual run the following day. I would urge everyone to take the opportunity to have both the booster and flu jabs and help protect yourselves, your loved ones and the people we care for.
