Our area-wide specialist service, which covers Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East and Wirral, provides:

  • Community-based neuropsychology, vocational rehabilitation and case management across the Cheshire and Wirral area.
  • In-patient neuropsychology assessment and treatment for stroke and neurorehabilitation wards at Clatterbridge Hospital.

We work with Cheshire clients over 18 years old and Wirral clients over 16 years old who have sustained an acquired brain injury as an adult, including:

  • Strokes
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Cerebral infections (e.g. encephalitis, meningitis, cerebral abscess)
  • Hypoxic brain injuries
  • Subarachnoid haemorrhages
  • Toxic encephalopathies
  • Brain tumours (medically stable)

To access the acquired brain injury service, please speak to your GP, social worker or any other health professional working with you. They will be able to refer you if they think our service can help. Alternatively, you can make a self-referral or refer as a family member or carer.
